π¨ THIS WEEK ON THE KYLE (XY) TAUS BLOG π¨
What if they're all symptoms of the same system?
Over the next week I'm releasing what I believe will be one of my most important blog series yet.
This isn't about left versus right.
It's not about Labor versus Liberal.
It's not about blaming one generation, one government or one corporation.
It's about asking a much bigger question...
What if we're still trying to run a 21st-century world using a system that was designed decades ago?
Every day this week I'll be unpacking one piece of that puzzle.
Not with headlines.
Not with political spin.
Not with clickbait.
But with questions that I think every Australian deserves to ask.
πΈ Y2K Society: Why the Cost of Living Isn't Just Inflation
Everyone keeps saying it's inflation.
I don't think that's the whole story.
We've added subscriptions, smartphones, streaming, cloud storage, AI, internet, toll roads, digital services, software licences, expensive utilities and constant technology upgrades onto a society that still expects people to survive on yesterday's economic model.
The world upgraded.
The system didn't.
Maybe the real Y2K bug wasn't in our computers...
Maybe it was in the structure.

π Political Accountability: Governments Must Answer for Outcomes
If ordinary Australians are expected to answer for their mistakes...
Why aren't governments?
Why does accountability often disappear once the election is over?
If politicians ask us to trust them with our future, shouldn't they also explain the outcomes of the decisions they make?
Democracy shouldn't stop on election day.
It should begin there.
---
π° Political Spending & Campaigns: Are Governments Prioritising Power or People?
Election campaigns seem to become bigger every election.
More advertisements.
More consultants.
More slogans.
More money.
But here's the question...
Are political parties becoming better at governing...
...or simply becoming better at marketing themselves?
And if corporations are donating millions into politics, Australians deserve to ask one very reasonable question:
Who exactly is being represented?
The people...
...or the people writing the biggest cheques?
---
π’ Corporate Greed vs Corporate Responsibility
Making a profit isn't the problem.
Forgetting the people who helped you make it is.
Technology should improve people's lives—not simply increase shareholder returns.
Automation shouldn't become an excuse to abandon workers.
Loyal customers shouldn't become forgotten customers.
If businesses expect loyalty...
Perhaps loyalty should work both ways.
---
π The Housing Crisis: A System Designed for Yesterday
Housing shouldn't feel like winning the lottery.
It should feel achievable.
We'll explore why housing has slowly shifted from being a place to build a life...
...into becoming one of the biggest financial barriers facing an entire generation.
Because a country can't move forward if its own people can't afford to live in it.
---
πΊ Television, Culture & Why Audience Loyalty Matters
Television isn't just entertainment.
It's memory.
It's routine.
It's family.
It's culture.
Shows like Neighbours weren't simply programs.
They became part of Australia's story.
So what happens when business decisions forget the audience that built them?
Can loyalty actually have value beyond ratings?
I think it can.

❤️ The War on Drugs: Fifty Years Later... What Have We Learned?
After fifty years...
Billions spent.
Lives lost.
Communities hurting.
One simple question remains.
Did it work?
Instead of asking whether we should fight harder...
Maybe it's finally time to ask whether we're fighting the wrong battle altogether.
Sometimes the bravest thing a society can do...
...is admit when a strategy has failed.

π₯ This Week Is Bigger Than Seven Blog Posts
Each article stands on its own.
Together...
They tell one story.
A story about accountability.
Responsibility.
Community.
Housing.
Business.
Media.
Politics.
The economy.
And the future we want to leave behind.
You don't have to agree with everything I write.
In fact...
I hope some of it challenges you.
Because conversations that matter are rarely comfortable.

π Don't Miss A Day
Every post builds on the last.
Miss one...
...and you might miss the piece that makes the rest suddenly click.
Sometimes the biggest picture only appears when you step back and connect every piece of the puzzle.
This week, that's exactly what we're going to do.
One conversation.
Seven topics.
One question that sits behind them all...
What kind of Australia do we want to build for the 21st century?
